Aha Magical Budapest so stumbled upon this destination was just chatting in my workplace looking for a reasonable October trip and a kind lady suggested Budapest As much as I like Prague , Budapest or Buda and Pest beats Prague in my humble opinion . So whether you’re a family or a single adult what a lovely place , the architecture is second to none with magnificent buildings at every turn .From the Parliament Building to my favourite the Fisherman’s Bastion . Must dos visit a spa ; natural treated hot springs warm and relaxing ( Did Szechneyi Bath picture perfect ) , Castle District , try Palinka-spirit or Goulash-stew ( for the non alcohol drinkers ) , take a ride on the subway or children run railway and visit the Great Market Hall . These are the tip of the experiences , easily navigated city with loads of sights close together . Very reasonable though the exchange rate will take some calculating . If you are lucky enough to be there when there is the sausage and wine festival hooray what a combo enjoyed fully my taste buds was to the fore . Which leads to notable events in Budapest Formula one Grand Prix , National Gallop , Beer Festival , Brandy festival , Marathon and Wine festivals . The night life is too notch and reasonably priced . Notice the trend of alcoholic festivals Budapest/ Hungary has a rich history and was responsible for inventing the Rubik cube and ballpoint pen For accommodations they range from extremely cheap to very reasonable for Europe . Where possible stay as close to the river Danube as possible . Interesting fact Budapest is actually two areas Buda and Pest separated by this river . Stayed in the Sofitel Chain Bridge because of its location to Chain bridge . Never never rule out BnB and self contained apartments on any trip Budapest one of my top European destinations , entertainment for value
